Travels Purpose:

Travel as Access, Not Escapism

Follow my journeys across the U.S. and around the world as I explore food, sourcing standards, and taste. Every destination highlights the places I stayed—heritage hotels, eco-lodges, boutique villas, and points- accessed luxury properties—so you can see where I experienced the flavors, systems, and stories firsthand.

Travels List

Source & Standard approaches travel as access—to farms, fisheries, markets, kitchens, and the standards that govern them. Stays range from independent villas and regenerative eco-properties to global brands like Hilton, Marriott, W, and Anantara, sometimes funded through points and sometimes chosen deliberately outside of them. Luxury here is contextual: access, intention, and proximity to place matter more than brand alone.

Who This Is For:

Source & Standard is written for curious, thoughtful travelers who:

  • Care about where food comes from and why it tastes different across borders.

  • Are interested in sustainability, policy, and ethical trade without sacrificing pleasure.

  • Want travel experiences that balance comfort with connection.

  • Understand that food systems—and the rules behind them—shape culture as much as cuisine.

Understand that the systems behind food shape culture as much as cuisine. This is not a restaurant guide, a points-hacking blog, or a sustainability manifesto. It is an exploration of food systems experienced firsthand, where policy meets practice and taste tells the story.

This is still the search for the perfect bite—but with a deeper question behind it: What made that bite possible?
